Maytag Replacement Coil Wico Model 72 Twin Ignition Multi Motor Gas Engine

  

This New Coil winding is to replace your old defective winding of the Wico FW 1718 on the Maytag Multi Motor Twin Cylinder engine using the Wico Ignition. These coils are produced using Computer controlled Winding, Modern Insulation, Full pressure liquid insulation impregnation, Coils manufactured by a Highly Rated company with 19 plus years coil winding experience for all types of Vintage and Antique Car, Truck, Tractor and Hit Miss Engine applications. A new Condenser is supplied and must be used and is supplied with the new winding. The old Wico Condenser must be removed.

We supply a terminal bracket to simulate the connection at the top of the original condenser. The new condenser can be tucked down under as seen in these photos.

Look for it under the coil, its yellow. The leads are just long enough to get it under there. DO NOT solder the spark plug wires to the terminals!! Use only copper stranded spark plug wire.

Twist the wire, insert through the opening and wrap it back around the terminal. This is a high tension output connection, so no solder is needed. Solder can only damage the winding. A New Condenser Properly rated is reguired and supplied.

We recomend new spark plugs. I recommend Autolite 216 and Autolite 4316 Spark Plugs/ They are non-resistor and the correct heat range and physical size. They have served me very well over the years. Gap the spark plugs to. Gap the contacts or points to.

Make sure you tuck the primary wires carefully so that no moving parts can damage them and they do no not get pinched. Once the ignition is assembled do not spin the flywheel without the spark plug wires being grounded to the engine. The spark created even when turning the flywheel by hand can damage windings. They must have a source to ground or the windings can be damaged and lead to premature failure of the coil.
