This Larger Rare Motor was only installed in the very Early models and dealer display Models that were run hard. On display because it ran cooler / Had more power / and Had Better Longevity then the Standard Smaller Motor. It Was Also More Expensive to Produce then the Smaller Standard Motor that kept the cost down. The Original Horizontal E Unit Also Operates Forward Neutral & Reverse as it Should it was also Cleaned. Both Original Trucks are in very good Condition. The Original Smoke Bulb Operates and is in very very nice Condition has no Deterioration. The Nickel Rimmed Wheels Look Fantastic all are tight on Axles and show No Ware Clean & Shinny. This is the Very Rare Dule Worm Gear Drive Model Made Only In 1946 Seldom Seen on E Bay!
This Model Is Becoming Harder to Find Because not many were Made That one year and. The Prices are also going through the roof, These 726's are and investment That are Going Nowhere but Up! This is the last 726 I have from my own collection it was in a wall display cabinet in a smoke free home. NOTE: This has not been run in a long time it needs to be serviced if you plan to run it a lot The Oiling. That was dune was quite a long time ago at restore but Synthetic oil does not brake down like reg.
But Engine will need to be exercised to get it up to speed if you plan to run it! You will be hard pressed to find one with high stack motor, red brush plate in this great Restored condition. And being 70+ years old this has it all Collector Quality! The boiler shell has been restored by a retired older gentleman who restores these shells for me. He removes all paint down to bare metal and repaints them to Lionel original color and finish. They are baked on enamel. Cab numbers are rubber stamped with silver oil based ink as original and they are never handled with bare hands when finished. He has been doing this for years and I've never received anything less than perfection.
