The James Booths engine has no conventional crankshaft and was intended to cut down on the height of the vertical engines but there is no evidence of any full sizes ones actually being built. Note: do not rotate this engine by hand. Tested on compressed air and engine turns nice and smoothly. It should not be turned by hand as its not like a conventional steam engine and you risk damage to the mechanism.
Wooden base measures 23cm x 18cm. The only problem is the steam inlet valve shaft is broken.
Presumably this os because the steam inlet valve is stuck. This will require repair / replacement. Please refer to photo where I have shown this.
