Beautiful, highly detailed and fully functional. 1:2 Scale Engine Model.
This is an assembled Franzis model which is operational with crank, camshaft, pistons, valves, pushrods, flywheel and flashing spark plugs all operating/moving at correct timing and visible through the transparent main case, top cover, cylinders, heads, gearbox and front cover. The 5 speed sequential gearbox can be shifted through the gears! It is a truly amazing piece. The model sits on a base that has 3 AA batteries that power an electric motor that drives the engine operation, lights the spark plugs and also provides sound effects of an actual recorded R90S running engine through a small speaker. This is not simply an assembled kit, but rather a kit that has been assembled by an experienced modeler with lots of added detail.
Wiring, clamps, carburetor bodies and screws, starter motor, crank, flywheel, model base, rocker arms, and more have been hand detailed for the greatest realism. Not a toy, Recommended for ages 14+.This is a very impressive model, especially so due to it 1/2 size scale - it measures approximately 13" wide x 13" long x 10 high. A must have for the R90S enthusiast! FYI, it fits very nicely on one shelf of an Ikea Detolf glass display cabinet. Note: Since the photos were taken, the model base has been detailed with a textured finish and R90S nameplate attached - looks great! Officially licensed model by BMW.
Included with the model is an equally beautiful museum-quality collector's manual which includes BMW & R90S history and photos. The model will be carefully packed for safe transit.
