1938 OHLSSON & RICE GOLD SEAL. 56 SPARK IGNITION MODEL AIRPLANE ENGINE with ORWICK

  

THE METAL WIRE ENGINE STAND IS NOT INCLUDED HERE Looks like an Original 1938 Ohlsson & Rice. 56 Gold Seal Model Gas/Nitro Spark Ignition Model Airplane Engine for Parts or Repair Only with Wooden Display Stand. This Early Vintage tough to find O&R Gold Seal Engine J 2095 Rotates Smoothly with Very Nice Compression The engine came equipped with a Stamped ORWICK Custom Extended Exhaust Pipe which appears to be a RARE period correct add-on piece???

You can obviously tell by the stamping in the exhaust pipe body itself that it was a part produced by ORWICK back in the day. I was able to locate a photo of another O&R Gold Seal sporting a different style of extended exhaust pipe using an online search engine & have added the photo here for you to view the simularities in the two models of pipes. The Needle Valve Assembly is missing on this one & you will need a replacement Fuel Tank & possibly a (Top Plate has a few areas of Silver Solder which can be heated & removed, could be cleaned up & re-used if need be) & will need an Intake Hanger to restore this engine correctly. The Small Fuel Cap on the original Top Plate looks to be in excellent condition. You may be able to locate the replacement parts you need from Woodys Small Engines etc.
