Marushin'48 Harley Davidson Panhead Engine Model with Motor & Sound Units NOS
Marushin is no longer in business and these models have become extremely rare - especially with the Motor and Sound Effector units. 1948 Harley-Davidson Panhead Model Engine with Motor Unit. This beautiful piece is long out of production and quite rare.
The engine came in both kit and assemble versions and. This is the assembled version - assembled by the Marushin factory in Japan. In this version, the motor unit, that forms the base, is included and is in an integrated silver color (the accessory version is black).
Note that the built engine does come with full "kit" instructions, so. One could disassemble and reassemble the engine, if desired - no glue is used, all the parts are bolted together like the real thing. The engine is assembled with over 300 precision diecast & machined metal parts, miniature screws and. The valvetrain, pistons, crank, chain, etc. All move as in the real engine.
The engine is mounted on a stand and operated by an electric motor (power adapter included). Accelerate or "rev" the engine using the miniature throttle twist-grip on the base and listen to the revs rise as you watch it vibrate and shake just like the real engine!
Cutaway cylinders show the pistons operating and the valve operation can be seen with the valve covers removed. The air cleaner cover and valve covers are included in a. Separate blister pack with hardware for optional installation. Chain cover may also be removed for viewing internals.
The'Sound Effector' connects to the back of the. Engine unit via a short cable. The engine/motor unit stacks on top of the sound effector for a.
The sound is amazing and adds so much to the overall enjoyment and'coolness' of the model! If you do an internet youtube search for: Marushin. HD 1948 Panhead 1200 1/6 by Ivan Photography dated 11/21/2011 you can find a video of the engine running with a sound effector attached. On the front of the Sound Effector is a headphone jack allowing private listening our using a patch cord to connect to an audio system! (Note: the sound effector is not available separately).
I think you will agree that it is very impressive! The sound is sync'd with the throttle and the sound volume is adjustable via the knob on the effector.And sound effector are new - NOS. The boxes have only been opened and the units removed for photos. All the original packing and instructions are included. Items will be well packed for safe transit.
