Vintage paint and great antique patina. This engine needs nothing; it is ready to show and run.

These engines were produced by the Johnson Outboard Motor Corporation to support the WW2 effort. They were primarily used as pump engines and were mounted in a tubular cage (think old school generator). They were used as fuel transfer pumps, water pumps and fire pumps. I run the carb dry when shutting down, so no corrosion occurs during storage periods. The coil in the magneto has failed and I run the engine with an automotive coil and 12V security system battery.

I will include the coil and a wiring diagram for easy hookup. It's super simple as there's a stop switch on the engine cowling and the coil negative wire attaches there. This connects the 12V automotive coil to the magneto breaker points. Serial number: 114195; circa 1947 Engine type: Four stroke, throttle governed 1 Horsepower Rated RPM: 2000 Displacement: 6.96 Cu. Bore and Stroke: 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" Flywheel: Aluminum with cooling fins Fuel system: Gravity fed down draft carburetor Ignition system: flywheel, high tension magneto and spark plug Lubrication: exclusive Johnson metered splash lubrication Cooling: Air cooled Please reach out with any questions - thank you, Michael.
