1974 Briggs & Stratton Model 100 4 HP Engine Motor Cart Mini Compressor Tiller

  
Here's a good Vintage 1974 Briggs and Stratton 4 hp series 100 motor that came off a classic Dayton compressor. Typically starts with 2 pulls and the choke extended. It settles into a steady roar with the static throttle knob. It does have good compression and spark. The crankshaft is tight and I couldn't detect any crankcase cracks or leaks. It has a good clean 2 1/4" long and 3/4" dia. Shaft with a good key way on it.

Good cooling fins and head tin. The crankshaft is still tight. The cigar muffler is solid and works well.

This motor could be used in about any snow blower, rototiller, water pump, compressor or multi-use application you need. So what could it use?

The original air cleaner needs the rubber carb base grommet, screen, and intake tube. It works without them well, but are missing. The original gold paint is cosmetically challenged with scratches, denting, and residual dirt or grime from 45 years of use. The tank interior and carb look pretty nice with light deposits, but still shiny. These ol' 100 series were pretty bullet-proof, with strong torque, and easy to work on. You can build this up for any cart or mini bike use. This is still a good vintage motor for that implement worker or a retro cart project! The oil and fuel has been removed for safe transport.
